This is where I needed to introduce the variable. ![]() Once I drew the steps up to the right level, I drew the first long landing, and then the top landing parts. I don't know how else I might have done this, because working from the centre toward the outside would be very bizarre for me to think of - building stairs from the landing DOWN to the floor? Besides, working from the centre out would make me do sh**loads of calculations as I went, when going left to right UP the stairs was a simple copy/paste/move.Īnyway, that's how this sketch came to be. I chose this way because I needed to duplicate the tread and riser rectangles, by copy/paste/move (point to point) to build the elevation of the stairs. (Y is vertical, X is horizontal - so this is on the "XY" plane) Made an elevation sketch by beginning to draw at the origin. ![]() Refer to the includedscreencast for visuals on all that I describe here.
